OPEN WATER DIVER

This globally recognized certification program is the best way to begin your lifelong adventures as a certified scuba diver. Personalized training is combined with in-water practice sessions to ensure you have the skills and experience required to become truly comfortable underwater. You will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.

The SSI Open Water Diver Course consists of 3 phases of skill development;
Academic Training, Confined Water Training and Open Water Training Dives.
Upon successful completion of all 3 phases, you will earn the SSI Open Water Diver certification.
Qualifies you to dive worldwide accompanied by another certified diver to depths of up to 18 meters / 60 feet

Passed the paper test at 80% or more

Confined Water Training and Open Water Training

During the pool/confined water training, your SSI Instructor will teach you all the necessary skills in a controlled environment until you are comfortable and ready to go to the open water.

1 or 2 days (depending on individual performance)

During the open water training dives, you will apply your knowledge and repeat the skills in a real-world environment under the supervision of your Instructor.

Minimum 2 day (2 dives a day)

Certification

Once you have completed all required training sessions, final exam and open water training dives, your SSI Training Center will issue your digital certification card which will show up instantly on your MySSI App.

Advanced Adventurer

If you cannot decide which specialty programs are the best choice for you, join the SSI Advanced Adventurer program! With this program, you can try a variety of specialties before committing to full specialty programs. It is a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Adventurer Program, you will try out 5 different specialties. You will complete one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI Instructor. With this trial program in specialty diving, you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full specialty programs any time in the future and credit your Advanced Adventurer training towards them

Become an advanced diver

Continue your adventures and get the skills and experience you need to dive the world’s best dive sites, with SSI advanced training programs. Whatever your passion is, we have an SSI Specialty for your needs, because you can choose from over 20 individual programs. When you complete a certain number specialties, you’ll also automatically earn the SSI Specialty Diver, SSI Advanced Open Water Diver and SSI Master Diver ratings. These ratings display your competency and build a solid base for more adventures to come.
